Where are we building
September 16, 2016 update
We are 90% done with fiber construction in Nodaway and 50% done in New Market. We expect to complete work in those communities this fall. We will begin scheduling customers for connection to ultra-fast Internet, FMtv and voice service very soon. We anticipate this work being completed in late 2016 and early 2017.
We have already completed work and have connected customers in Villisca, Stanton and Bethesda. In addition to Fiber-to-the-Home work in our communities, we have expanded our fiber network in Red Oak, Clarinda, Bedford, Corning and Lenox this year – with hopes to add business and residential customers in those communities in the coming years.
The Fiber-to-the-Home network, with nearly endless capacity, is positioned to deliver up to Gigabit Internet (1,000Mb), digital TV, which we call FMtv, and crystal clear voice services for decades to come.
We know some may think they don’t need that much bandwidth, but usage patterns tell the whole story. The amount of Internet usage by our customers has gone up 700% in the last 10 years, and that trend has increased dramatically in the past few years, as we all connect more devices to our Internet and do more with those devices.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We appreciate your business and hope you enjoy all the benefits and services the new FMTC Fiber Network has to offer.
